It's November! Any goals for the rest of 2016?
How do you want to look and feel this Holiday season and beyond? Who says that you have to gain weight this time of year? Arizona update...!! 3 months and counting!!!
Jamie and I had a great hike at Tohickon Valley Park Sunday morning. Lo and behold, it was the day they released the dam and the park was filled with adventurers going down the rapids! We forgot our phones, so we can't show pictures, but what a wonderful park to hike and enjoy nature! I am definitely going back!
Speaking of...if you are coming to Scottsdale with me in February, or, even if you are not, I will be training for the mountains on various terrains around our beautiful area. (I want to make sure I can get up that mountain and enjoy the beautiful view every day that I am in the dessert!) I invite you to join me! So, I think at last count, I get about 30 emails a day from various scientific and many not so scientific sources about nutrition, diet, movement modalities, habit change strategies, etc... Sooo many of them are worthless, except to keep me informed of the (pardon-my-french) crap that you, my peeps, are subject to on the newsstands, in your inboxes, on TV, from friends, etc... Most are from hackers who are trying to sell you on the next magic pill or easy peasy weight-loss plan. Guess what? There is no magic pill - but there can be good information that you can use to open your eyes to how you are treating your body and "who" you are when you're eating...

Are these your most addictive foods? I'll share a bit of my journey with you...I had to make a conscious decision not to eat cereal anymore (# 15 on the list) because I couldn't stop at 1 bowl...there would be milk left, I would add more cereal... oops, too much, more milk, more cereal... You get the idea... Now I don't buy it, don't have it in the house, so I don't even think of eating it. Great strategy, right? I'm curious, which one (or more) of those foods is trouble for you?

Many of my clients and peeps ask me for help cooking nutritious meals. Well, I am not a nutritionist, nor a gourmet chef, but I do have some wonderful tricks up my sleeve that I love sharing. But, I found that many of you are still just so darn busy that the thought of working, running kids, parents, etc.. around, shopping for healthy ingredients, getting it all assembled and cooked, etc...was just too much for you sometimes. So I was hearing that you were stopping at fast food, picking up restaurant take-out, or...having a bowl (an endless bowl maybe) of cereal for dinner. I get it. Bottom Line - Good, fresh food, easy to prepare. The Original menu plan was just too much meat for me and my family of 3 with a vegetarian daughter, but the vegetarian option was good and interesting. I'd do this, but maybe every other week instead of every week
